AASY Action is a nonprofit organization that provides yoga classes and other services to at-risk individuals—and the people who serve them. At locations such as the Delonis shelter in Ann Arbor, our experienced instructors get out into the community, offering free courses to people who are homeless, HIV positive, victims of domestic violence, or recovering from substance abuse. Staff and volunteers who work with these individuals are also welcome in the classes.

Yoga is well known for its many benefits. It brings physical health, mental balance, and emotional strength. It helps people handle and reduce stress. It builds confidence and self-reliance. Yet too often–because of money, time, and accessibility issues–not everyone who could benefit from yoga is able to do so. AASY Action changes that, by bringing free, high quality instruction right to vulnerable populations.
